Full event details

A choice of one hour, activity driven workshops is on offer. Each will add excitement and interest to an aspect of the GCSE curriculum and foster a sense of appreciation of the natural world:

- Evolution of Life
Uncover our planet’s incredible evolutionary history!

- Composition of the Earth
Find out what the Earth is made from and how it is structured.

- Active Earth
Unearth our planet’s active history, examine Earth’s structure and ponder at plate tectonics.

- Rocks of the UK
Examine the most common rock types in the UK and how these different rocks are linked to upland and lowland areas of the UK through using geological maps and cross sections.

- Seismic Hazards
Explore what an earthquake is and how different seismic waves move.

- Volcanic Hazards
Examine different volcanic rocks and deposits, linking these to specific volcanic hazards and plate tectonic boundaries.
