Henry VIII and his six wives, ‘Bloody Mary’ for Mary I of England, the ‘Virgin Queen’ for Elizabeth I; we all know their names and their stories, but do we, really? Movies, podcasts, documentaries, TV shows, and public history books on the Tudors continue to thrive and to be commissioned. This obsession with the Tudors never seems to end, and one might ask, ‘why?’

In this talk, Dr Estelle Paranque will explain her own fascination with them, but will also question it and discuss the stories behind the tales, the ones that you can only learn about via going through English and non-English archives.

This taster will also include an introductory overview of studying at NCH, and there will be ample time for Q&A with Faculty and Student Ambassadors.
