The University of Wolverhampton Law School is pleased to announce the 2021 Virtual School’s Mooting Competition. The competition provides an excellent opportunity for budding law students to participate in a mock trial and presenting arguments in a virtual courtroom. This will enhance the pupil’s communications skills and provide an excellent experience to put down on their CV’s.

Your School pupils from across the region are invited to take part in the annual ‘Law Mooting competition’ which centres around an area of Law.

Teams will compete in a moot by arguing a fictitious legal case in front of a virtual Judge. The case (or ‘moot problem’) concerns various contentious legal issues and points of law. It is then up to the teams, the Respondents and the Appellants, to present their side of the case to the Judge.

Each team/School will be working in pairs on the moot problem so that you can identify the issues and split up the work fairly. Each mooting team will have a maximum of 15 minutes to present their arguments. The problem for the mooting competition is on non-fatal offences against the person.

Teams will be judged on their use of the material provided. This also makes preparation for the competition much easier for you.

Sound exciting, book places for your pupils now.
