This event is a great opportunity for A level History students to meet historians and present a short paper on History for a prize of a £20 voucher.
They will be able to meet “The History Chappy”, Patrick O’Shaughnessy, other History students, and Aston’s team of international historians and scholars.
This event is a great opportunity for A level History students to learn more about History at University level, but also to discuss their current studies in History.
The event will include:
- A key-note talk by “The History Chappy”, Patrick O’Shaughnessy, History teacher, author, and co-creator of the popular 'Versus History' Podcast.
- Talks from leading academics operating in exciting new fields of History research.
- Group discussions with History undergraduates.
- And a Questiontime panel with Aston’s team of international historians and scholars.
We are also looking for A level History students to present short papers (6-8 minutes length) on topics they are especially interested in from the A level syllabus. The five best papers will be awarded a prize of a £20 voucher. Places will be distributed on a first come first served basis, up to a maximum of five students per school.
Upon booking, you are welcome to submit up to 5 students (along with their paper topics) to us before the event. This is optional, and students are welcome to join with/without a paper.
