This interactive and exciting event provides pupils with a hands-on opportunity to learn about the wider benefits of university study. Pupils will take part in exciting workshops, have a tour of UCB and hear from current university students.
The Aimhigher Plus UniLife Conference is designed to educate and inspire Year 9 and Year 10 pupils to achieve their goals. Learners will be equipped with the skills and knowledge required to make an informed decision about university as they learn about the wider benefits of university study.
The day will include a ‘Student Marketplace’ activity where pupils learn about all the extra parts to university life, including finance and budgeting, the Student Guild, international opportunities and much more. Pupils will also take part in an interactive workshop to learn about learning styles at university, and the differences between school and HE. Pupils will have ample time to discuss any questions with current students on their campus tour, but will then also have the opportunity to ask questions to students from a range of local universities in a Q&A session. The day will culminate with a motivational speech designed to encourage pupils to build self-confidence, make the most of their education and future and to ultimately raise aspirations.
