But while it might not be everyone's idea of fun, demand for macabre attractions and disturbing experiences that recreate horrific moments in history is growing - dark tourism is on the rise.
Delivered by head of department and member of the Institute for Dark Tourism Research, Beverley Boden, this session:
> defines dark tourism and the appeal of dark tourist sites
>discusses how Auschwitz-Birkenau has developed as the darkest tourist destination on earth
>assesses how Chernobyl is paving the way for nuclear tourism
>discusses the future of dark tourism

This session is suitable for years 12 & 13 or for anyone with a keen interest in this area.
