Full event details

Find out what social workers do, and the range of knowledge and skills necessary for effective practice. Social workers aim to improve people’s lives by helping with social and interpersonal difficulties, promoting human rights and wellbeing. Social workers protect children and adults with support needs from harm. From helping to keep a family under pressure together, to supporting someone with mental health problems, social work is a varied, demanding and often emotional career. It’s also very rewarding.
Throughout this interactive day students take part in a range of practice scenarios to explore the varied role of the social worker.

Due to limited places booking is essential for this on campus event and all students must book individually to secure their place.

If you are a tutor please contact Lee Musson if you have further questions.
