Girls Into Electronics gives female sixth formers the opportunity to develop their interest in Electronics at a leading university, in partnership with the UK Electronics Skills Foundation. Participants will discover more about Electronics and studying at university level, as well as hearing from female engineers working in the Electronics sector.
Curious about studying or finding out more about Electronics? We are really looking forward to hosting the UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF) ‘Girls into Electronics’ event at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Royal Holloway has a distinguished history in the education of women and this event aims to continue our tradition by inspiring and empowering the next generation of female electronic engineers.
During a one-day visit to our Electronic Engineering Department, participants will hear about Engineering applications and learn about studying Electronics at university, as well as hearing from female graduate engineers working in the Electronics sector. There will also be a practical session and participants will receive a free Insight into Electronics kit for their use after the event.
This course is aimed at female sixth formers (Yr12) but it would be suitable for Yr 11 pupils thinking about taking STEM subjects at A-Level. It is fully funded (including lunch), except for a small booking fee.
