Full event details

Professor Watts will talk about his research, experience and view on best practices within STEM education.

Discussion will include:

1. A ‘teaching’ question: Do we actually teach STEM as one subject, or four?

2. A ‘disciplinary’ question: Is it best seen as STEM or as STEAM (with the inclusion of the arts)?

3. A ‘philosophical’ question: Is STEM too ‘capitalist’? - in the sense that it emphasises the entrepreneurial production of solutions to problems that are then sold to the people who need them, rather than solving problems from a perspective of social welfare.
