Full event details

The University of Sheffield Department of Physics is offering a Medical Physics taster day for A Level students studying physics and maths. Principles of physics and mathematics are deeply embedded in a variety of medical procedures and techniques. During this taster day you will learn about the absorption of electromagnetic waves and their uses in medical imaging techniques such as radiography. As well as sampling life as a student studying physics at the University of Sheffield, you will have the opportunity to experience hands-on practical work, develop transferable skills, learn more about career pathways and speak with our student ambassadors who are currently studying with us.

It would be useful to bring a smartphone to be used in the first practical session. A light meter app can be downloaded onto it - instructions to follow.

For more information and to apply for the session, please use the "visit website" link below.
