Full event details

This session will introduce you to the profession of Speech and Language Therapy. You will find out about the role of a speech and language therapist and how they can help people with a wide range of communication and swallowing difficulties. You'll learn about the different settings a therapist might work in and how varied the career can be. We'll also provide you with an overview of our Speech and Language Therapy programme here at Sheffield; outlining the modules you will study and the clinical placements that you will complete.

Finally, we'll share our top tips for applying to train as a speech and language therapist and you'll have an opportunity to talk to current students.

By the end of this session you should be able to:
- describe the role of a speech and language therapist
- understand the components of a speech and language therapy training programme
- identify actions to help prepare your application
