Full event details

In this masterclass, students will design a research study to answer the question 'Are footballers wimps?'. By the end of the session students will be able to describe the research process and will have an understanding of how the sensation of pain is generated. We will explore the factors that influence our response to pain and look at methods that can be used to measure pain and to evaluate the psychological and social impact of pain on the individual. Students in the group will help to design a research process, and in doing so will be able to consider issues like sample size, sampling, and basic data analysis. Students do not have to be studying biology or maths to get something from this session.

Individual bookings can be made by students in Year 12 or 13. Please note you may not be allocated all the places you request depending on availability.
