Students and young people are vocal campaigners using social media and the law to be heard, and to create landmark changes on fundamental issues such as climate change and human rights. These micro-conferences enable students in Year 12, Year 13 and mature students to engage and connect with these issues.
CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
Session 1: The Human Rights Act and the European Convention on Human Rights ‘under threat’,Professor Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos, Head of the Department of Law
Session 2 - choose one of the following:
Human rights law and the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, with Dr Fatima Ahdash
OR
The climate crisis and the rise of climate justice and climate litigation, Professor Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos and Dr Virginie Barral
Session 3: Audience discussion chaired by the speakers
Depending on your location, the conference can be delivered in school (London or South East) or online (via Zoom). Each conference takes 90 minutes.
