This English academic taster lecture will take you inside the world of English Literature at a university level. The study of English Literature at New College of the Humanities encompasses a variety of different literary texts from 1550 to the present, learning how writers have responded to their contexts, cultures, and the literature of their contemporaries.

By reading, discussing and analysing a particular piece of literature or poem you’ll begin to develop your creative responses and find yourself approaching a diverse range of literary works from both a critical and creative perspective.

The move from Sixth Form to University is an exciting new experience that brings a higher level to your education and prepares you for life after university, so please join us for this taste of a University style lecture, delivered by one of our English faculty.
