In this taster day you’ll get the opportunity to experience what it’s like to study Mathematics at University.
Join us at our Clifton campus where you will start the day by taking part in a sample lecture from our academics. You will then be lead on a tour by our current Math's students where you can find out what life is like studying Mathematics at the award winning Modern University of the Year.
We will then move on to one of our laboratories where we will teach you how to use the Matlab (matrix laboratory) software to generate physical shapes from mathematical equations. It might take us a while to 3D print these out but when we do we'll send them to your school for you to keep, so make sure you remember what yours looks like!
You will then meet one of our current researchers, who will explain what new areas of mathematics they are currently investigating. Finally we will finish the day with a question and answer session with our academics and students and you’ll have the chance to learn about the varied career paths and opportunities this respected degree offers.
This experience can also help your Personal Statement stand out!
The day is free of charge and refreshments will be provided. It's also perfect if you haven't decided which specific discipline you want to study yet as you will have the chance to learn about the different areas and have a chat to academics about the different degrees.
You must be 16 or over to sign up to this event and be studying A Level Maths.
