Optimizing your future with Chemical Engineering

This session will explain what chemical engineers do and how their work is impacting global issues like energy and sustainability. You will have the opportunity to design a bioethanol production plant and explore the trade-offs between manufacturing costs and the quality of the product. Finally, we will discuss the process of applying for University, and our student
ambassadors will answer your questions about moving to University.

When: Wednesday 1st May - 4pm - 5.30pm

Age Group: Year 12 and Year 13

Location: Online

Itinerary: 4.00pm - 4.05pm: Log in and get comfortable
4.05pm - 4.20pm: Welcome and introduction to the department
4.20pm - 5.00pm: Interactive subject taster: Design a bioethanol production plant
5.00pm - 5.25pm: Q&A with current undergraduate students
5.25pm - 5.30pm: Closing remarks and next steps
