A technique filmmakers use is the ‘180 degree rule’. This rule helps us make it seem as if the actors are looking at each other and relating to each other. ‘Crossing the line’ is breaking that rule. Crossing the line can have a disastrous effect on the believabilityof a scene with dialogue. In a studio set-up, we will explore the 180 degree rule and when ‘crossing the line’ and breaking the rule might be a good thing
