About Manchester Metropolitan University

Here to make an impact on Manchester, our nation and beyond, our city centre campus combines environmentally-friendly buildings, excellent teaching facilities and superb student support services. We have a driving ambition to discover and disseminate knowledge, and strive to make higher education accessible and beneficial to all those with the passion and ability to succeed.

We work closely with partners, businesses, the community and academic peers – locally, nationally and internationally. With around 38,000 students and 4 faculties offering hundreds of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses, Manchester Met educates and trains large numbers of legal and business professionals, scientists, engineers, teachers, health workers and creative professionals. 91% of our graduates are employed or in further education fifteen months after graduation. We recruit ambitious students from all backgrounds and inspire and support them to achieve. We have more than 320,000 alumni from 170 countries and around a further 10,000 new graduates join this community every year.

At Manchester Met we are investing in the future, with a £400m investment programme in academic buildings, student residencies, the public realm and IT systems and the recent development of a new creative hub for Arts and Humanities. Our innovative new Institute of Sport is due to open in early 2022, bringing together sporting expertise from across the University, and delivering world-class education and research for our students.

Inspiring the next generation of students on their higher education journey

We offer a range of activities for learners in primary, secondary and further education. Our teams work with different age groups to inform, inspire and provide the necessary tools to succeed in higher education.

Through our Post-16 outreach team we offer pre-entry activities and guidance for students, parents/carers, teachers and higher education advisers. We raise awareness of the benefits of higher education, and help young people to make an informed choice about university.

Our widening participation team work across Greater Manchester to inspire future generations of university students. We aim to raise aspirations of young people through our events and activities and give them the confidence to achieve their potential.
