We have over 200 Undergraduate courses designed to enable students to make a positive difference in the world. We welcome anyone who wants to study in a creative and intellectually supportive environment. We will encourage students to share their voice and immerse themself in the things that matter most to them, with a wide range of extracurricular activities on offer. Our curriculum is shaped by the latest research, and students will get to learn from academics at the forefront of their fields, giving them a kickstart into their future career. Whatever they study, we will help students to open their mind, deepen their knowledge and challenge the status quo.

We are not only recognised for our world leading research, but are also joint 26th out of 104 UK institutions in the The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024.

The Recruitment and Outreach teams are available to help students make informed decisions about university through our higher education talks, workshops, tours, and masterclasses – either at our campus events or as part of a visit to schools or colleges.

Our talks are delivered by Sussex graduates, student ambassadors and our recruitment and outreach teams, our activities are aimed at Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students.

Our beautiful campus offers a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment, surrounded by the tranquillity of the South Downs National Park. Our campus is like a large village, with everything you need for day-to-day life. This includes a post office, GP surgery, dentist, sport centre, supermarket, and pharmacy as well as numerous cafés, bars and restaurants, and a weekly food market. In 2022 we opened our exciting new Student Centre, creating a one stop shop for any student support you might need.

Brighton city centre is just a 10-minute train ride from campus. A sunny seaside city famous for its sense of inclusivity, it’s a place where you can express yourself and be who you want to be. You can be confident you'll be joining a welcoming student community.

Our Careers and Employability Centre team offer advice, information, workshops, events and work experience opportunities to support you throughout your time at Sussex, and for three years after you graduate. We love entrepreneurs – which is why there’s lots of support for students wishing to start or grow their own business or social enterprise.
