The Economics Matserclass, which is aimed at post 16 students, is a great opportunity to visit the University campus and discover what studying a degree in this area would be like. Students will be given information about careers available in this industry and what skills and qualifications are needed to progress.

The afternoon will include:

A talk introducing the different economics and finance courses you can study at NTU, the entry requirements and information about careers.
A hands-on workshop designed to raise your awareness of how you study in an economics and finance and banking degree.
An opportunity to tour the NTU City site and meet current undergraduates as well as academics who teach on these courses.
A guest speaker who will give an insight into their career journey.

This day is an invaluable experience for anybody interested in studying economics or finance and banking and thinking of working within the economics or banking sector.

Students are welcome to attend this event on their own or accompanied with a teacher as part of a school / college group.


*Teachers booking groups on please be aware of the following: We are required to target learners who are from disadvantaged backgrounds and statistically less likely to progress on to further and higher education. We are required to ensure that at least 66% of the learners who engage in our activities meet one or more of these criteria. These include learners who:
reside in deprived neighbourhoods, where progression rates to higher education are low
are from low socio-economic backgrounds
are currently in receipt of a post-16 bursary
are in receipt of free school meals
are currently looked-after / in care or have recently left care
have a disability
post-16 students on vocational qualifications in state funded institutions (who are doing no more than one standard A-level)
mature students (those on an Access course and / or those over 21-years-old).
