Full event details

This presentation is an introduction to the world of animation and visual effects and how departments work together to produce a film.

The animation industry is known to blend art and science, which is why it is suitable for people who delight in both worlds.

Art informs technology, which in turn helps artists create beautiful work.

The topics covered will be preproduction, production and postproduction in an animation and VFX studio.

The structure of a film is given by the animation and VFX pipeline. It starts with an idea, which grows into sketches, 3D models, textures and animation and even interaction with real people and environments. On our course, BSc Computer Animation and VFX, we help students learn and apply the techniques needed from the start to the end of the pipeline. to produce computer generated imagery for films and games.

This session lasts between 60-90 minutes. The main session is preceded by a welcome presentation and ends with a Q&A where students are free to ask questions. It is aimed at year group 12 and 13 and is delivered via MS Teams.
