University event offered by Birmingham City University
Short Session Delivered at Birmingham City University
In this workshop we will explore the simple principle behind animation. Working on A3 paper grids, with each rectangle representing a single frame, students will create a 4 second animation. Animators work using keyframes. An image sequence that creates the illusion of smooth movement and life are placed in between the keyframe. This sequence of images are called the ‘in-betweens”. This workshop will allow students to practically and very rapidly see how these in-betweens work, and how much you will need to change the next image to create smooth animated movements. This workshop allows students to work on paper but easily see the results of animated drawings instantaneously. As we progress, we create a collaborative animation that grows before your eyes.
