Full event details

Since the 1970s the FBI proposed and developed offender criminal profiling - identifying offender characteristics based on aspects left at crime scenes. Despite popular movie & TV depictions, there is very little reliable psychological or scientific evidence behind criminal profiling to prove it works. By looking at case-evidence and research, this talk challenges the FBI belief that criminal profiling helps in live investigations or cold case reviews. Criminal profiling is a great idea but has little evidential worth for detectives.
