“It’s ……….… Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

This taster's theme focuses on the law of defamation. Natalie Turney, Lecturer in Law, will run the session and look into the recent trial of Rebekah Vardy and Colleen Rooney, a prime example of such a case.

Are you an aspiring solicitor or barrister?

Or, perhaps you want to work in compliance or financial services?

In addition to our “Wagatha Christie” special, in this webinar you’ll find out how the LLB at Buckingham, delivered over two years, will support you in achieving your career ambitions. Sign up to our Law Taster Webinar to find out how.

For those interested in qualifying as a solicitor in the UK, the webinar will explain the recent introduction of SQE (Solicitors Qualifying Examinations) and how our law degrees help prepare you for these professional exams, enabling you to choose the accelerated SQE1 preparation courses after graduation. Our innovative and diverse curriculum also contributes to preparation for the practice orientated SQE2, both SQE1 and SQE2 being necessary for qualification as a solicitor.

For those students wishing to qualify as an English barrister, we will explain how our law degrees (single or combined honours) satisfy the academic component of Bar training, the necessary first step to qualifying as an English barrister.

Our LLB also satisfies the necessary first step for qualifying as a lawyer in various common law jurisdictions, including Canada, Nigeria, the Bahamas, and Bermuda. In addition, we often accommodate the additional requirements needed to practise in some other common law countries and, if you are an overseas student, we are willing to explore what modules you will need to qualify for your jurisdiction.

At this taster webinar, you will meet a member of the law academic team who will explain these aspects of our offer, and more. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to an academic and a current student, via online chat.

Time: 4pm - 5.30pm
