Full event details

Wednesday 23rd October, 9:30am - 12pm

Together, we will debunk myths and realities about what we mean by crime and harm in different areas of the social world, considering spaces such as the custody suite, the online world, and the sex industry.

Students will be given the opportunity to understand the role that the media plays in the representation of these spaces and the people within them. This interactive session will enable students to reflect on how our streaming platforms are constantly filled with ‘true crime’ docuseries, and the latest celebrity court cases or ‘scandals’.

You will critically think about fascinations around crime, criminality and harm in the fictional space - many that are portrayals of real global cases.

This event is for Year 12 and Year 13 students or anyone considering studying Criminology at university level. You will gain knowledge and understanding of what to expect from BSc (Hons) Criminology at the University of Sunderland.

We are accepting both group bookings from teachers as well as individual bookings from students/enquirers.

This event is for anyone who is considering studying Criminology at university level.
