What to expect

With the help of our sustainability and business experts, students will engage in two tasks across the academic year. Each task gives students a chance to showcase their ingenuity and commitment to sustainability while addressing key factors in business.

Task 1 – Sustainability audit (30 points)

Students will audit your school against the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals, deciding which three best align with your school and which areas need the most improvements. Students will gather evidence to demonstrate this.

Task 2 – Marketing campaign (30 points)

Based on their audit and analysis, students will produce a marketing campaign that highlights your school as an eco-conscious institution. On launch day, they'll be given a dedicated resource pack for the challenge. Our business experts will be on hand to explain what information students will need to gather, the different approaches they could take, and suggest some examples of initiatives.

Grand final (40 points)

The challenge will culminate in a grand final where students will showcase their sustainability initiatives to a panel of esteemed judges. The judges will evaluate the impact of the initiatives and the difference they have made to your institution. With 40 points at stake, the final presentations will determine the ultimate champions of sustainable business innovation.

How this will help your students

This is a great opportunity for students interested in studying business to demonstrate their commercial and economic knowledge and propose how to implement it in a workplace environment. It will also demonstrate their commitment to their subject outside the curriculum and is a useful addition to their university applications.
