Full event details

This session will introduce the idea of a Markov chain, a major topic in many university probability courses. It will illustrate the ideas by considering the game of Monopoly, leading to ideas about which squares a player's token is likely to land on most often in the long run.

It will also mention other applications, potentially including Google's PageRank algorithm and language modelling.
