Full event details

Engineering Systemisers is an UCL initiative, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, aiming to enhance teachers’ approaches to co-produce engaging and practical STEM lesson resources, and to equip the next generation with the mindset and tools to tackle emerging global challenges through engineering systems thinking. The opportunity is open to all KS3-4 students, teachers, and school teams (ideally from across London universities).

Time commitment for school teams:

  • 2.5 hours on Tuesday 10th December 4-6:30pm (working with UK industry and university to review design requirements and intended learning outcomes, identify game settings, and feedback on game concepts)
  • 2.5 hours on Wednesday 11th December 1-3:30pm (test and feedback on the game prototypes, finalise the game rules, and discuss potential ways to integrate into their curriculum)

--> The workshop will be running over two full days (on 10th-11th December) and you are very welcomed to the entire sesion if interested and available.

What will you get?

  • Free board games and concept cards: tailored, cross-disciplinary, engaging, and practical educational materials, supporting your curriculum, and aligned with emerging industry needs.
  • A unique discovery-based learning experience for students to think and act like systems engineers, connect with industry and universities, and gain insight into engineering careers.
  • Recognition of being an “Engineering Systemiser” by UCL, funded travels to the venues, a Thank You voucher and free access to digital assets (e.g., engineers’ storyboard).
