Maths Anxiety: Solving the Eqution

Presented by: Heidi Kirkland, Associate Lecturer in Teaching Training, Institute of Education and Dr Thomas Hunt, Associate Professor in Psychology, College of Health

About: Maths Anxiety is a very common experience, reported by people around the world. This talk aims to help all teachers, from primary education to secondary and beyond, to better understand Maths Anxiety and learn how we can address this within our classrooms, creating a more positive learning environment for all.

Led by experts in the field of maths anxiety, this talk will discuss tried and tested interventions and strategies to alleviate students' Maths anxiety. Thomas Hunt is an associate professor in Psychology at the University of Derby where he leads the Mathematics Anxiety Research Group. He has authored several academic research papers and book chapters on the topic of Maths Anxiety. Heidi Kirkland is an experienced primary teacher, Maths coordinator, and associate lecturer. She has authored numerous blogs and articles on Maths Anxiety. Book your place through the form below.
