Join us for a friendly webinar to find out what it might be like to study paramedic science at university.
Session time: Monday 10 February, 16.15-17.00
Join Ryan Goodman, UEA Paramedic Science lecturer, and take the role of a paramedic attending to a fictitious patient. In this interactive workshop, you will assess and respond to an emergency medical situation, navigating a variety of intricate clinical and psychosocial dilemmas.
The scenario will introduce the challenging and complex circumstances a paramedic regularly finds themselves in, demonstrating the clinical, observational, investigative and interpersonal skills that are central to offering immediate and effective care at the front line.
Ryan will then put the exercise into context by introducing the BSc Paramedic Science programme at UEA, explaining how the course prepares undergraduates for a high intensity, dynamic and rewarding career in Paramedic practice.
We invite you to shape the outcome of the scenario or simply observe, with an opportunity at the end to ask any questions you have about Paramedic Science and practice.
Please note that, although the session is scheduled to end at 17:00, Ryan will stay on until 17:15 to answer further questions.
Suitable for: This workshop is suitable for aged 16+ pre-university students aspiring to become a Paramedic, those interested in further study or higher education in pursuit of a career in healthcare or for those who simply want to enhance their understanding of the role and profession. Student groups as well as students and teachers joining individually are very welcome.
