Biosciences Masterclasses

As we look around the world it can be easy to throw up our hands in despair. The climate crisis, global food security, mass extinction of animal populations caused by human activity, all seem to have become the new normal. Meanwhile, healthcare systems facing novel diseases and pandemics combined with rising levels of obesity and ageing populations create additional pressures globally. These are immense challenges facing humanity and represent problems that won’t just go away. Join us for a full day of activities where your students will gain an understanding of the interdisciplinary approaches tackling these global problems.

During the event, your students will have the opportunity to:

• Experience university-style learning and develop new skills in a laboratory session
• See learning and other students spaces around our campus, including the Biosciences Labs
• Speak with researchers and current students
• Learn more about applying to university

Places at these events are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure places for your students!

In order to be eligible, students must be studying Biology or Chemistry plus another science-type subject and capable of achieving BBB at A-level. Equivalent qualifications also accepted.
