We believe it's important for young people to be able to develop their skills in the workplace while learning more about different course and career options.
Applications for STEM Work Experience 2025 are now open and will close on Friday 31st January 2025.
The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) work experience weeks have been designed to allow Year 12 students to build their self-confidence, immerse themselves in a scientific environment and gain a better understanding of what science skills, courses and careers are available.
There are 3 different STEM programmes to choose from:
- Life (Human) Sciences - 16th to 20th June 2025
- Biological Sciences - Nematode (microscopic creatures) Research - 23rd to 27th June 2025
- Geographical Sciences - Fieldwork and laboratory WEX - 30th June to 4th July 2025
These placement are all in-person at the UoB Clifton Campus (around BS1 8TD) and unfortunately due to the volume of students on the programmes, we are unable to offer any assistance with accommodation, catering or travel for the week. You will need to be able to get to campus for the correct start time each day and stay for the whole day to get the most out of the week.
When allocating places, certain criteria will be taken into consideration in order to encourage and support applications from students currently under-represented at UoB.
