Leeds Futures is a national outreach programme designed for individual learners in Year 12 / Year 1. It provides students with the opportunity to learn more about a subject area they are interested in pursuing at university, whilst developing their study skills and careers awareness.
This programme is for Year 12 students.
Students sign up, individually, to a subject-specific Futures strand and take part in a sustained series of activities throughout Year 12 / Year 1 until the point of submitting their UCAS application in Year 13 / Year 2.
Over the course of the programme, students will experience what it’s like to study a particular subject at the University of Leeds. They will take part in after-school live webinars, Q and A sessions with existing students, and attend on-campus taster days.
Our national outreach programme, Leeds Futures - Environment, is designed to inspire Year 12 students who are interested in studying a degree related to geography, geology, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or geosciences.
On the programme, you will develop your subject knowledge through a series of academic taster workshops, giving you the opportunity to experience teaching from academics in the School of Geography and the School of Earth and Environment. The programme also includes activities that support your skills development, insight into life as an undergraduate student and support your university applications.
This years programme will split into two strands, one focusing on human or social sciences side of the degrees on offer in the School of Geography and the School of Earth and Environment, and the other focusing on the the physical or stem side of the degrees offer in the schools above.
