To mark COP30 we have launched BIFoR Future Forests! A series of curriculum-linked lessons will ensure your students (KS3-KS5) have a meaningful voice in supporting an exciting climate-friendly future take root and grow. More details about the FREE resources and how to get involved in the project can be found on our canvas site: https://canvas.bham.ac.uk/courses/52405/pages/bifor-future-forests-%7C-florestas-do-futuro
To showcase outputs from the project, we will be inviting a cohort of year 12 students onto the Edgbaston campus to take part in a knowledge exchange event. Students can attend engaging talks and panel discussions, as well as present their findings in the form of scientific posters. Outputs from the day will feed into an interactive policy workshop, where students will have the chance to co-author an impactful policy brief.
Registration is free, but spaces are initially limited to up to 5 x year 12 students (from all subject disciplines e.g. Art, English, History, as well as STEM subjects such as Science, Technology and Maths) and accompanying staff per school. Apply for places to attend the summit by completing the registration form by Friday 28th February 2025. Please note, this is an in-person event.
