Feedback from schools and students:
What the staff and students say about their experience with Shaping Futures:
Shaping Futures have provided our school with many exciting and varied opportunities, including considering routes into Higher Education, the session was comprehensive and helped students understand what to consider, research further opportunities that University study can provide beyond an academic degree. Our Year 13 students had a very informative and interactive session on Labour Market Information. This helped them break down the complex world of work. Shaping Futures listen to what our students want and ensure their sessions meet their needs, the value of which cannot be underestimated. They are able to access current information, from advisers who are knowledgeable and really understand that our students need to aim high. Sixth Form Manager.
The outreach I have received from Shaping Futures has helped me explore all options available to me regarding pathways into a career I love. After the post 16 choices workshop, I thought carefully about what A-levels I wanted to take and different options available to me at university, such as study abroad and the option to take a year out in industry. These helped me inform my UCAS application and decide how I present myself through a portfolio. It also drew my attention to things that I may deem unimportant, but are in fact critical for being successful. Shaping Futures programme making it useful and supplementary for every single student in the room, whether they want to move on to Higher Education or not: simply good life skills to have.
