About Imperial College London
We’re Imperial College London, a world-leading university for science, technology, engineering, medicine and business.
We’re consistently recognised as one of the world’s best universities by QS, the Guardian and Times Higher Education, and were named University of the Year for Graduate Employment 2024 by The Times and Sunday Times University Guide. We’re also home to a greater proportion of world-leading research than any other UK university, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.
Imperial is at the centre – a global hub in a global city. Our work shapes the world and our community reflects it, brought together by the gravitational pull of London’s energy, economy and opportunity.
With more than 370 student-run societies and clubs, plus a huge range of extracurricular activities, there’s plenty of opportunity to have fun, learn new skills and meet lifelong friends. Our main South Kensington Campus in West London is a stone’s throw from Hyde Park and world-famous museums including the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and V&A. Most of our teaching happens here and it’s also home to our central library and sports centre, Ethos.
Events for students, schools and colleges
We run events for prospective students, teachers and advisers throughout the year. Our events provide guidance on each stage of the admissions process as well as insights into life at Imperial.
There are plenty of opportunities to visit us throughout the year:
- Weekly student-led campus tours
- One-to-one appointments with the Student Recruitment team at our Visitor Centre which can be booked in advance
- Events and conferences for teachers and advisers
To organise a campus visit for your school, make a request on our
website.
We offer live and on-demand online sessions, including virtual drop-ins, information and advice webinars, taster lectures, meet the researcher events and current student Q&As. We also run a Virtual Open Day experience and host a virtual tour of Imperial.
We were founded in 1907 with a mission ‘To be useful’ – but we know that before anyone can usefully change something, they first need to understand it. That’s what we do here: We use science to try to understand more of the universe and improve the lives of more people in it. Join us at Imperial – a place to ask your questions. And to get closer to the answers, together.
