For the University’s centenary year, a large investment was made into renovating the Percy Gee Building with a new spacious Campus Kitchen that offers a wide range of quality food and drink. And is home to the Students’ Union, a student-run organisation that represents the voice of the university’s community and coordinates more that 250 clubs and societies. There are new, flexible and multiuse study and social spaces.
The University has a wide range of sports facilities with two large sports centres, one located on campus, and another located near The Village accommodation, for students who wish to train for competitive sports, keep fit, or wind down after a busy day of studying. There is a large range of gym equipment, saunas and swimming pools, and fitness classes. The Students’ Union is also home to the only on-campus O2 Academy live music venue in the UK, hosting established and new bands, plus club events and student nights.
