Discover a fresh approach to future options with “My Journey: from KS3 to HE” by Make Happen. The programme is comprised of six flexible bitesize sessions, suitable for Years 7 & 8. The programme is designed to be used during tutor time with a duration of 20– 30 minutes each (which can be adapted to suit the teachers’ time frame or broken down over several tutor time sessions).
Each session is filled with interactive games and quizzes, encouraging students to discover their future pathways.
Using the NERUPI framework, the programme will offer a positive introduction to Higher Education for younger students. NERUPI is a research community working on University participation interventions.
The six sessions of the programme cover a student’s journey from their upcoming GCSE choices, all the way through to Higher Education and their future careers:
Session 1: Introduction and choosing GCSE options
Session 2: Post – 16 options
Session 3: What is University?
Session 4: University Life
Session 5: Virtual Campus Tour
Session 6: Education Timeline
Each session is provided as a PowerPoint presentation for a teacher to deliver themselves. Alongside each session, there is an accompanying teacher’s notes document which will guide them through how the session should be delivered. Most sessions also include printable resources and worksheets for students to use.
