Whether it’s guidance on putting together a portfolio, de-mystifying Student Finance or delving into the world of the creative industries, our sessions are designed to engage, inform and inspire. 
Where possible, our team will be happy to travel to your school or college to deliver these sessions, but we can also deliver all sessions virtually.

 

PRESENTATIONS: 

  • Creative Careers 
    Years 7-12 | 30 minutes or 60 minutes 
    Artists and makers are fundamental to creating so many aspects of our society – some a little more surprising than others. Your students will learn about the many exciting career pathways within the creative industries and how they could turn their creative talent into a rewarding career. 
     
  • Researching Your Options For Creative HE Courses 
    Years 12-13 | 60 minutes 
    How do you know which institution – and which course – is right for you? This talk will help your students navigate the options available to them and provide them with resources, tools and tips to make confident and well-informed choices about their next steps. 
     
  • An Introduction to AUB 
    Years 10-12 | 30 minutes or 60 minutes 
    This presentation introduces Arts University Bournemouth and our range of specialist creative courses as well as an insight into life as a university student at a creative arts institution. 
     
  • Developing Your Portfolio 
    Years 12-13 | 60 minutes 
    What do creative arts universities look for in a portfolio? In this presentation, we’ll show your students how to put together a portfolio that showcases the best of their creative ability, discuss some inspiring examples and explain the formats students can use to present their work. 
     
  • Personal Statements for Creative Courses 
    Years 12-13 | 60 minutes 
    Personal statements are a crucial part of applying to Higher Education. We’ll show your students how to shine in a personal statement for creative subjects and take them through the first steps of drafting their own personal statement in this interactive presentation. 
     
  • Making a UCAS Application 
    Years 12-13 | 60 minutes 
    This presentation will guide your students through the UCAS application process. We will cover the key dates you need to know and all stages of the application process, from researching institutions to submitting the application. 
     
  • Student Finance Explained 
    Years 12-13 | 60 minutes 
    This presentation can be delivered to both students and parents and will clarify the often-daunting world of Student Finance. We’ll explain the jargon and talk through the process of making a loan application, the financial support available and how repayments work. We’ll also cover the key considerations when it comes to the cost of living as a student. 
     
  • Student Life 
    Years 10-13 | 30 minutes 
    What’s it really like to study at university? What is daily life like living in Halls of Residence? What is a Students Union and how can you meet people who share your interests at uni? This short talk offers an insight into the common questions asked by students when thinking about applying for university.
