What was the French Revolution and Why does it Matter? This session will encourage students to think in depth about the nature and importance of the French Revolution. Considering contemporary prints and songs, as well as the interpretations of historians, the principal issues and debates relating to the period will be covered. The session is issue focused, and assumes no prior knowledge of the French Revolution. It will benefit any students who are currently studying the French Revolution at A-Level, as well as those who would like to better understand what studying History at University is like.
